How We Were Formed:
web site is dedicated to the memory Walter "Big Walt" Tuner
III. Walter was a successful athlete, playing both football and
basketball in high school.
Unfortunately he collapsed
during stretching exercises in the school gym, without showing any warning signs. He passed away shortly
thereafter from Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM).
HCM is a condition in which the heart muscle becomes
thick. The thickening makes it harder for blood to leave the heart,
forcing the heart to work harder to pump blood.
has never been forgotten. From that day forth our founder pledged to
find a means of helping others to be more aware of blood diseases and
disorders. That vision has grown to the organization you see today.
is the most important fluid in the human body. It fulfills many
functions without which the body would deteriorate and die, including
supplying oxygen and nutrients to bodily tissue, removing waste
products, regulating body temperature, and supporting the immune system
by transporting white blood cells and antibodies. Knowing the type of
blood you have is important in medical emergencies, and may affect the
type of diet one should follow. Some cultures also believe that it even
affects a person's personality and romantic compatibility.

global culture around blood type awareness. He understands that being
informed of your blood type can define a life or death situation. Read

A Message From Our Founder
you for taking the time to visit “What's my blood type.org”. This site
was created to educate you about why knowing your blood type is
critical. There are many diseases and disorders that are life
threatening and kill thousands of people every day. It was the loss of
a friend to a blood related disorder that inspired me to be more
informed about my own blood type and health. Until his passing I had no
knowledge of my own blood type. I soon found out that I was not alone;
more than 60% of my fellow Americans are unaware of their blood type.
I am type O+. The journey of discovering my blood type was nothing less
than enlightening. I now live a healthier more fulfilled life… It is my
goal to educate you about your blood type and help you to educate
